The US Border Patrol found small traces of marijuana on a couple of rapper Lil’ Wayne’s tour buses near the Texas town of Falfurrias and the hip hop. The patrol man said the buses were en route to Laredo, Texas, from a concert stop in Hidalgo. The is currently being detained, as are 11 others in his posse. The case has been referred to the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.The marijuana on the buses was detected by a drug dog, said Agent Joe Trevino. The rapper, whose real name is DeWayne Michael Carter, Jr., was among a dozen being detained from his group. They were later released.
Wayne’s entourage were part of a random search by Border Patrol agents that resulted in pot being found on two of the vehicles. Lil’ Wayne and his company are currently being detained at an undisclosed Border Patrol checkpoint. Lil’ Wayne was scheduled to perform tonight at the Laredo Entertainment Center at 7:30. No word yet if that show has been canceled.
